Freedom from the Body

Mohan was lying with tears trickling down his cheeks.

His body was screeching in pain; the malignant growth had penetrated his bones, thus making it unbearable.

He wanted to go places and reach new avenues, but destiny had other plans.

"It's just a matter of time," the docs said.

The family was stroking his legs with the hope of giving him some relief.

After coming to terms with the present, he tipped the hospital attendants and spoke words of wisdom to his children.

He finally breathed his last with a smile as he got freedom from the diseased body.

In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story about what freedom feels like. Whose point of view do you use? Does the idea of freedom cause tension or bring hope? Let the reader feel the freedom. Go where the prompt leads!

Wordless Wednesday #120

When Mother Nature pours, even the sidewalks show their gratitude.

As I strolled around on the warm sunny streets, I was grateful for the freedom to be able to jaunt at leisure while some brethren crave for this noun as it puts them in confinement either due to political unrest or health issues.

Mantra for today: “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”

Wordless Wednesday #72

When a bird feeder becomes an attraction for a squirrel....sure nothing is labeled just for birds!

Thank heavens, all living creatures have the freedom to live, breathe and express!

Mantra for today: Gratitude for the air we breathe, and the liberty to choose what the heart desires!

People and their Freedom

As soon as Man is born, he longs for independence. The freedom to do things, the ability to go anyplace. He yearns for flexibility, power, and privileges.

But, honestly Independence is just a myth.

We cannot do anything on our own. We all are in a circle of life where we are dependent on each other for our freedom, joy, happiness and even sorrows.

Man being a social animal. We are dependent on our loved ones. If they are happy, we can enjoy and have the liberty and freedom to move around or else we will be coop around them.

Joy and Sorrow are two sides of a coin, and we all are attracted to each of them as they impart wisdom and joy to man. This allows him to grow not only physically but also spiritually.

As man continues to make his decisions on what to wear, work, eat and play. His decisions are dependent on his aides around him. He will not be happy for long if he continues to tread on the path based on his decisions.

Man is happy in unison and thus, eventually his decisions will become biased. Community plays an important role in man's welfare and progress. Thus, making him inter-dependent on his fellow brethren.

Mantra for today: A community in consonance is a proof of happiness and progress.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day, is a long weekend. It is all about sales, barbeque's and socializing.

Gone are the days when people ponder on the real meaning of this weekend.

When good things come naturally, we start taking it for granted.

Freedom is one of those stands that some countries enjoy it thoroughly. Thanks to the strong legislation rules that crime are under control, and people can venture out doing stuff that they "like" or "enjoy"

As I sit back and enjoy the extra Monday off. I like to pause and thank all those men and women who sacrificed their lives for to keep me and brethren safe.

Today, as I leisurely walk on the roads, and take in deep breathes of contentment. I like to bow down to those who thought of putting themselves and their lives on the line of fire and let go of themselves so that we could enjoy this moment of our life.

I bow thee!
Thank you!

Mantra for today: Nothing is for free on this planet, thus, treasure it.

How do you value freedom?

Freedom has lately been in the news.

Many of us use this noun for granted and crib about other issues.

  • Ask those soldiers who fight in harsh temperatures and unfriendly environment to keep their civilians safe.
  • Ask those innocent people who have been imprisoned by unjust laws of a country.
  • Ask a neighborhood where people are instructed to stay indoors because of a civilian who has gone berserk and is carrying a weapon and has injured a few.
  • Ask people who are suffering from a disease and have been instructed to stay indoors cause of their low immunity.
  • Ask those people who have been chained inside a house for 10 long years, while undergoing physical and emotional abuse.
  • Ask people who are dependent on others for their care since they are weak and in poor physical condition.
Mantra for today: Freedom is precious, do not take it for granted. Show your gratitude towards it.

Right to education

Humans are intelligent souls so, they have a right to many things such as Freedom, Speech, Equality between each other and a right to get Educated.

No one should be spared from the above. Just as breathing in Oxygen is not yet taxed the same concept should be applied to humans desiring to study.

No girl or boy should be discriminated when they show a desire in gaining knowledge. Fortunately, America does not bar any living souls from getting educated.

This shout out is to all other countries where girls are not regarded equal to boys. They are considered to be home makers and be at home. Send your girls to schools and let them study. If they are educated, the future generation be will smarter and brighter than the current one.

If an individual is educated, she will rise to any challenges and help pave way for herself and her family.

In this world, where everything is ruled by money. When a person is in a financial soup, the wisdom will help her to work her way out of any money problems.

Education makes an individual smarter. Best wishes to Malala Yousufzai for a speedy recovery.

Mantra for today: Education is a right for each human. Grab it!
