Freedom from the Body

Mohan was lying with tears trickling down his cheeks.

His body was screeching in pain; the malignant growth had penetrated his bones, thus making it unbearable.

He wanted to go places and reach new avenues, but destiny had other plans.

"It's just a matter of time," the docs said.

The family was stroking his legs with the hope of giving him some relief.

After coming to terms with the present, he tipped the hospital attendants and spoke words of wisdom to his children.

He finally breathed his last with a smile as he got freedom from the diseased body.

In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story about what freedom feels like. Whose point of view do you use? Does the idea of freedom cause tension or bring hope? Let the reader feel the freedom. Go where the prompt leads!

This Bag of Bones

Let's get this out...no body is perfect, and yet we all are proud to be called intelligent beings.

However, thanks to our organic components that govern the carcass that we can create memories by interacting, communicating, and connecting with other bodies. This frame, by its actions, can either take our name on a plaque or to the dungeon. Our experiences help this body to mature accordingly and with our unique DNA composition, we all are unique beings!

Look around, and you will find bodies of different shapes and sizes.

For which I applaud the garment industry for helping us all wear apparels by shopping under numbers and Alphabets. It's amazing how a population of ~20% can all dress under Medium or a number 6 and yet be different in so many ways!

Just as each story has a message to deliver, I think each body is also trying to unfold a story within, and the eyes hold most of the information.

My body has faced the brunt of arthritis and joint pains, which makes the muscles of  my body shout out each day. However, am grateful to my body that it has given  me a chance to look inside  myself and my needs and made me draw a line from my wants and desires. The day I walk along a path without pain; I feel thankful to my body since it made me walk an extra mile in this lifetime with a smile. Infact, I am  meditating when I am in motion since I pay conscious attention to my limbs as they move, and this helps me focus on myself and helps avoid thoughts to come and go.

But bottom line, our bodies are miracles, carrying us through life, and each one, in its  way, is a thing of beauty. What we choose to do with this miracle of life is our choice. We can either indulge in physical pleasures (that once again man has invented!) or choose to take our apperceptions to the next level so that gradually and eventually our body can cease to feel the pains around!

The most amazing thing my body has done is allowing me to contemplate about my existence by helping me give a goal in each breath beside being able to have a loving family around me.

Mantra for today: Every coin has two sides. Which side of coin we choose to see, is our call.

FTSF is live and today's sentence is: "the most amazing thing my body" Join in the fun!

Wordless Wednesday #45

Walked on the street of Hollywood Wall of Fame, and the above is a click of THE Steven Spielberg.

His hand and footprints embedded into the floor.

There were imprints of many "famous" people on that street.

It made me wonder about the importance of us being today!

Even though we know that our body is mortal, yet our acts can only be patronized by our physical self since our Soul cannot be captured. Thus, gotta treasure it until we breathe our last!

Mantra for today: These bag of bones needs to be nurtured so that our acts can be captured in a respectable way!

How to nourish your body and mind?

Mind is a Four-letter word but it is an important part of our body and can do wonders.
This organ is volatile and surprisingly, it impacts the body when it wanders around. This wandering can ignite a mind-body problem while stimulating a change in our mental state, which could be a pleasant or an unpleasant affair. This intimate connection between our mind and body can also impact our karmas since; it is dependent on our actions.

Desires can also allure the mind and eventually cause brunt to the physical self.

Can we control our MIND?
It is difficult to control our mind at times. But, to be aware of our thoughts is the beginning of a life changing process. We should be aware of our actions whether good or bad and this will gradually lead us to controlling our thoughts.
How can man control his thoughts and help avoid the stress to the physical body?

Awareness and being in the moment is the key!
As soon as your mind starts wandering
Pause, right there!
Rewind on your thoughts and make sure you make your mind; mind over you, and not over anybody else.
Try this small activity every now and then, and be amazed at how you can train your mind to be with you rather than wandering around aimlessly.
Man is an intelligent soul, and his mind can be programmed. Productivity increases once he controls the mind, and this results in accomplishment. He also tends to be more relaxed, attuned to himself and that results in contentment.
Imagine a life with no troubles or worries. Being content with whatever comes his way. That is like obtaining nirvana while living around materialistic things. Formulating our mind can help us attain our goal.
If a man is Aware of his surroundings, then he can make decisions relevant to them. Decisions can be good or bad at that time, but with time a person learns. This self-learning is a key to self-realization. That makes the person very independent and confident in whatever situation he is in. Whatever challenges Life will offer can be faced with determination and valor.
Thus, next time when you are in a situation and are thinking. Be Aware of your thoughts and gradually the nurturing of your thoughts will make you find Life beautiful in whatever state you are dwelling in.
Ah! The BEAUTY of MIND!

Mantra for today: Mind and Prosperity of Man are related.

Difference in Parenting

Becoming parents is divine.

Some people would give up their own life style to adapt to the tunes of the baby.

While some would just flush the baby down the toilet.

Seriously!

This mom in china was quite overwhelmed having a baby that she thought of getting rid of the little infant by a mere flush. She is a single mom and that could have been the reason for her insensitivity but, she could have had an abortion rather than keeping the baby full term, delivering it, and then getting rid of it.
How can an individual be so callous?

How can some parents be so divine and some be indifferent? We all have the same soul, body and mind. Is it the circumstances that make some parents hardhearted and some yearn to be good parents?

My 2 cents
No situation in life can be so miserable that one flushes another life down the toilet. It is how we translate our circumstances; that matters from an individual to individual.

Mantra for today: Translate each circumstance of your life in a positive way. It has something to teach you, each day.

Ways to feed the Mind, Body, and Soul

A human consists of a body and his soul. However, we spend most of our time appreciating our body and darned little time is spent on the soul, which actually is the prime gadget of our existence on this planet.

Since Time is money for most of us. Below are some ways we could nourish our body and soul at the same time.

  • Have sound relationships. Exit from relationships that are violent or abusive. Hoping that things will improve, is not gonna help. The nagging and shouting is hurting your mind, body and soul. Thus, End it.

  • Check what you ingest. Keeping a tab on what goes inside your body will take you miles with regards to your health. If health is good, mind and soul is happy. Awareness towards it will lead to happiness.

  • Nature walks. This uplifts your spirits and gives you an extra gush of oxygen to all the organs and the areas that are deprived of blood or are in pain. This will help you get a grip on all your emotions and give you ideas on how to tackle it. Result is that the mind and soul is relaxed which will give a healthy body.

  • Massages. These are helpful for the body and soul. Do not need to go to a professional. Use your own hands and massage that bruised area or the part that is giving signals of pain. Will see the difference!

Mantra for today: Take charge of yourself. This is your mind, body and soul.
