Two sides, but one Coin

When faced with confrontation, I usually head towards the hills by chanting Om Shanti Om.

No, not that song, but  reminding myself that my peace of mind is what matters in the end. Getting in a conflict of words is more than physical lashes thus, gotta avoid it.

Why fret over it when milk is already spilled!

Just zip it up and let the karma chameleon beat her over the actions. (my thinking)
Dunno why and how I land up bringing kismet into it but, I guess that is the baton of non-violence, and if Mahatma Gandhi was successful in making the Britishers leave India, I can definitely use it on one individual.

Now I am not the Anna Hazare of today's world and nor do I plan on forming a political party over my principles to bring clarity to this world since; I am myself struggling to get the lucidity over my ideals and get some perception on how to lead my another ~30 years of life.

As adults, we reach a point in our lives, when we want action to be taken when someone is unfair and we tend to rejoice when he gets paid for his deeds.

No wonder, Ditto is such a common word, and as we grow older, we love using it more.
The concept of sharing is only till we are pre-teens thus, we enforce this attribute in our children since once they are grown up, it is history.

There had been a time when I went head first into a conversation. This particular individual was irritating me for quite some time, and would refuse to take NO for an answer.
So, wore my headgear and went head in with a squawk.
That grunting noise was essential to keep the adrenaline pumping for me to strike back with equally gutsy words.

My shield was acting a good protector as it would deflect off all the words coming from her thus, avoiding it to penetrate in me and to affect me in anyways.

Man is resilient to bear any hardships as long as he can continue to absorb those verbal lashes.

So, I wore my eye black more so to protect me from that glare and head strong language, and help me tone down in all possible ways. The stripes help differentiate between light and dark lashes and help following a pop fly thus avoiding any injury to the self.

Like a knight I was dodging the abuses, accuses and defending myself.

Finally, my opponent gave in and retrieved before sunset. I was relieved.
But, stood guard cause the key to each action is a good defense thus, was on the alert for another few minutes and then retrieved.

And when I removed my shining armor. It was black with soot. I guess the words do impact and change color. I was so tired.
Mind was restless even though my shield reflected off most of the words. I took a day to compose myself.
Realized the impact.

The result was that no more punga from that person.
Surprisingly, the feeling was mutual!

Just like in mint factory, two individual and distinct sides, but ultimately the result is a shiny coin. We also went on such a similar excursion and experienced something similar.

When we entered the battle field, we were two individuals, but alas after an hour long brawl, we exited in one state....tired, sweaty, and fagged. We both had a new perception towards each other and were shining bright (cause of the sweat)

Mantra for today: There is no winner in a confrontation. Pressing the mute button is the key to that factual lock.

The power of intentions

FTSF is here and their sentence is:

I once saw the biggest hugger, and her embrace was magical.

People call her Amma (Mother) whose presence itself heals the room. I was awed by the various compliments showered on her by dignitaries around the world.

"My father and Amma are kindred spirits" --Ms Yolanda King (daughter of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

"Amma is the embodiment of pure love. Her presence heals."--Dr. Deepak Chopra, M.D.

Thus, got the opportunity to meet her and feel her embrace. It was just out of the world! As if all your tensions are gone and you feel liberated from the cycle of life.

Was always curious how can a person just like you and me have so much power to make such an impact?

She would hug just anybody who approaches her, and they all felt dizzy from the warmth of her love. Her hugs were neutral. The compassion she used in hugging me or just about anybody in the room would be the same. That was just amazing to see how a person could stay warm and have empathy towards all.

Her journey of divinity started when she was young when she saw the suffering around her. As we all realize that our karma's, (actions) are responsible for what we are today. She thought of, "“If it is one man’s karma to suffer, isn’t it our dharma (duty) to help ease his suffering and pain?”

Amma sure has a lot to teach humanity.

My 2 cents
Just a mere hug we could call it but if all of humanity had the same tenderness towards each other. Our sufferings would be mere, and we would not be treading along the path of life with heavy steps.

It is more Important to be of pure intention than of perfect action.”
― Ilyas Kassam

It is the intentions that matter and make all the difference to all the living souls around cause we all are hungry for kindness, affection, cordiality. If we all embrace mankind no matter what color, creed, size, or personality he/she is; we could be re-defining the meaning of LIFE.

Mantra for today: Intention is the powerful force in this world. Keeping them clean and positive will give a great outcome.

We are the World

Human population constitutes the majority of the planet.

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
There's a choice we're making

We're saving our own lives
Its true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Bill Holland started a group where all humans are invited to join in and help make a change towards betterment. Even if, we make a 2 cents change as an individual, imagine the amount of progress we can make together.

United we stand on many issues, and if divided, we ALL will fall.

As the new year dawns upon us, 'Tis the time to unite under one GOAL and help humanity progress towards consciousness. This consciousness will help man be aware of his deeds and help progress towards betterment.

Humanity One World.
Join hands to make a difference in your life and others.

Mantra for today: Compassion for humans will take us miles with respect to our karma bank.

Christmas Spirit

'Tis the season for giving.

Giving when your brethren need you is the most appropriate time to perform this act of charity.

We all are aware of the tragedy that occurred on December 14th in Connecticut. Children aged 5-10 years of age were not spared from the wrath of a man and became victims of his random gunshots.

What did these children do? Why were they subjected to the gun violence?

The parents who lost their children in this tragedy are torn apart and cannot get closure. One such lady is Ben's mom. Ben was a victim of this tragedy and my blogging community is joining hands to help arrange a Funeral for that family.

Your little contribution will help fill up the pot with the desired amount for arranging a ceremony to bid farewell to Ben.

Join hands in this venture and help the people in need. Make your donations on this LINK.

Mantra for today: Caring for others in times of need, is gonna take you miles with regards to karma.

The Ethics of Tipping

Tipping usually occurs when the server has kept a close eye on your needs.

But, does that usually happen?

There have been times that I have not got up from a restaurant table satisfied with my order. There were times, I would be extending my arm waving at my waitress in order to get her attention; for a refill of my glass of water, or some ketchup, or to complain about my food, or I have been patiently sitting on my chair waiting for her to approach, which would be mostly towards the end of my food.

She would be then approaching me with a superficial sorry and attend to my request but take her sweet time.

That usually would be a significant compromise and I would mutter to myself...I am better off eating at home atleast I could get up and get that darn ketchup or reheat my food or get my glass of water.

But, then the thought of cleaning up after cooking would make me thank the cook and the server cause I escaped that chore.

So, it is the time of "bring the check, please" She will have her sweet smile back and be extremely prompt with that.

"Tipping is good karma" I have been reminded this umpteen times and seeing the check makes me think of how much should I actually tip her? 15% is the required amount, but, after such a fantastic service, do I pay her or should I just pay for the food that the chef prepared and be off?

Gosh...when Karma is playing your mind, it like you talk to yourself, "okay okay, I will pay the required tip and be off"

But, in the end...should we follow our conscious and tip them anyway, or follow some guidelines for tipping when service is inadequate?

What Are You Thinking?

The Power of Mind

Mind?
Thoughts come from your mind and even if mind is a Four-letter word, it is an important part of our body and can do wonders. It can nurture new thoughts. Humans are fortunate to have a mind of their own, but most are not aware of it and prefer to follow others than make their own path.

Why?
Mind can only think if it is at peace and is in harmony with the body. This quiet mind when is not overwhelmed with distraction then can actually think and come up with a zillion of ideas to solve a problem in his life.

Wonders of Mind
  • It can travel miles, while; the body is sitting in one place.
  • It can make plans for the future while the body is at rest.
  • It can innovate.
  • It can nurture positive or negative feelings in one self.
  • It can make the body heal.
  • It can make a sick person live for an extended period of time.
  • It can make us see beautiful or ugly things.
  • This mind can make us be at peace or make us restless and give us sleepless nights.
  • This mind can make us achieve anything.

Can we control our Mind?
It is difficult to control our mind at times. But we ought to be aware of our thoughts in the beginning. This awareness of our thoughts will make us be aware of our actions whether good or bad and this will gradually lead us to controlling our thoughts.

It is a reversible cycle.

Our thoughts lead us to actions. But, if our thoughts are monitored, then our actions will be performed consciously.
Awareness is the key to freedom!
If a man is Aware of his surroundings then he can make decisions relevant to them. Decisions can be good or bad at that time, but with time a person learns. This self-learning is a key to self-realization. That makes the person very independent and confident in whatever situation he is in. Whatever challenges; Life will offer can be faced with determination and valor.
Thus, next time when you are in a situation calm yourself by taking deep breathes and come in harmony within yourself. Then be aware of your thoughts and this gradual nurturing of the thoughts can help make your life beautiful and content in whatever state you are.

Mantra for today: Awareness
