The Past, Present and the Future

Wishes, Desires, Ambitions!

The man is born to be the above.

In fact, as a toddler we are commanded to look up towards the kids who are walking, talking and eating on their own.
Such is the phycology of a human, which in a way is understandable since we don't want to be apes all our lives thus, ought to behave like a monkey and imitate!

The man is such a complicated machine. We make plans for the future, cannot forget our past thus ruining our present. Then, later on, we lament.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
-Bil Keane

Sure the solution is also not easy, though!

Some of the hardest battles we fight are those against the demons of our past, over which we have no control.”
― Charles F. Glassman

We all have a mind but how often do we use our intellect actually to exist in the present? We are always anxious about what if, how else, why this, now what

“If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.”
― Amit Ray

As a teen, I used to admire people who would multi-task and would always be in awe of them. I gradually learnt the art, but towards the end of the day my mind is more tired than my body!! Slowly I am learning to limit myself to things to do. Make a do-able list. Be present while cooking, driving, listening to the radio, being mindful when my kid is talking.

Yesterday I received a notification from Facebook, "Congrats! It's been eight years since you joined us today!"

Now, we all know what kind of life we lead on Facebook, don't we? It's all glamorous and wishy-washy kind of life most of us portray. It's like going to the Oscars, wearing those beautiful gowns and expensive accessories but all within the comforts of being at home!
So convenient huh!

I was like, "Wow! Wish I'd known. I would have joined FB earlier!"

My 2 cents
Making a choice of what, how and when to do things is totally ours.

Sure, when there are deadlines to work upon. We work only on those! Multi-tasking is actually not only draining our mind but we are losing the glamor of our present by not enjoying it!

Mantra for today: A Future that I desire can be shaped if I live in the present rather than repenting over the spilled milk!

This has been a Finish the Sentence Friday post. This week’s prompt is “I wish I’d known…” My co-host this week is the lovely and fabulous Kenya, who has a NEW BOOK out. Special thanks to Jill who thought of this week’s sentence but is unable to participate because she’s like busy or whatever.

Advantages of Social Media

FTSF #9 is here.
Join in the fun!

“You know what I think of social media? I think it has made man lazier.

Man is a social animal and in "Olden" days man used to step out to meet his friends, and family. He also used to exchange long letters of welfare with each other, and would talk on the phone with them.

Gone are those days!

Man is  facebooking or tweeting his/her friend with minimum text just inquiring about each other's welfare.

Example:

X: h r u

Y: ok

X will think, at least she is alive and replying back.

End of Conversation.

There are some of us who don't even like to use alphabets. They use the smiley emoticons.

Throw out your dictionary since that is no longer needed. Download the emoticons and keep it in your pocket or file in your smart phone, where-ever; it is easily accessible.

Advantages of Social Media

  • Man has become more productive with his work.

  • Emotions/Feelings are exceptionally low since; conversation is at its' minimum.

  • Children and parents are bonding well with minimum arguments.

  • Time management is at its peak. Country progressing and the word inflation are  nowhere near the ozone layer of our planet.

Mantra for today: This is the era of Constant Confusion.

How to be Productive?

I never realized this, until the month of November advent upon me, and I took up the challenge to write 50,000 words in this month besides running my normal errands and other writing obligations.

Initially I thought I am just nervous thus, keep going back and forth from my Hubpages to yahoo to facebook accounts and then again to my writing document. I would excuse myself with the pretext that my creativity needs a sparkle hear, and there thus, it's totally acceptable to go back and forth every 20 minutes or so...End product...Sunset embarks upon my little town, and I am still working on my 2,000 words of the novel.

Not productive at all, since my other writing was not happening. I had to prepare my coursework for my Reiki students and was still struggling with fate and kismat and destiny with my characters of the novel.

I started to think that I have ADHD and did not realize it until now. I was shocked but also thought that it never too late to get treated so, took it in the positive stride.

So, how to be productive?

Stay focused on my assigned work for 1 hour continuously and DO not open any site or link. There were times that after 10 minutes, I would stare at my text of the document, and hope that they talk to me since; I was getting utterly bored of these lifeless characters. But, I stuck to my code.

And as soon as my clock ticked 11am. I went to open my FB account and was glad to see so much activity happening there. I felt alive. I timed myself for 10 minutes and clicked on the X button and came back to the document.

Initially, I was extremely unhappy but then it felt my characters were talking to me, so I went and stroked their back with my letters. Voila, In two hours time, I could achieve my 2,000 words.

Mantra for today: Focus and determination pays off

I hope I continue to do this tomorrow :)

What are we ranting about?

The psychology of man is to rant about something.... earlier it was the stock market but ever since it crashed and no IPO's flourishing example: Facebook. Man likes to mouth about the weather, which again mankind is to blame for global warming and putting so many animals at risk for extinction.

These days we are mad about Gas prices. Sure, gas prices effect not only the vehicle we use to get from one place to the other but also our daily commodities get affected by it. There is an increase in prices for food, clothing, other essentials that we use daily, since transportation is used to get stuff to the city.

Solution?

Simple Living

Seriously, these days I see that a family consisting of 3 (a couple/a kid) live in 4 bedroom homes, drive a SUV and their desires are endless. Let's curb down our expenses and our wants and just look at our needs. That will help us save on bucks and also help save on various resources, which will help our planet.

Mantra for today: Contentment
