Visions of a Dream

Life is a long journey of good 70 years minimum. In that lifetime, man faces failures and successes. However, failures hurt the most, and man tends to remember those times when adversity strikes again.

How can we convert our failures into success, and achieve our dream?

Our mind!

Seriously!

Yes, if we learn from our failures, it will not be regarded as a breakdown, but it will be counted as success since we took home a lesson from it.

Keep your vision wide, and tap onto your sub conscious mind whenever failure strikes. Since, it is there to teach you something. Look at the pros and cons of your failure. Analyze it. Do not come to conclusions, but instead talk to yourself about it.

When your conscious mind talks to your sub conscious mind, analysis is done. And surprisingly, you will find some treasure beneath that failure. If not at that moment, but eventually you will realize it.

Fate cannot be so cruel so, hang in there, oh man!

Mantra for today: Hope is strong and mighty. Man ought to stick to his robust dream.

People and their Freedom

As soon as Man is born, he longs for independence. The freedom to do things, the ability to go anyplace. He yearns for flexibility, power, and privileges.

But, honestly Independence is just a myth.

We cannot do anything on our own. We all are in a circle of life where we are dependent on each other for our freedom, joy, happiness and even sorrows.

Man being a social animal. We are dependent on our loved ones. If they are happy, we can enjoy and have the liberty and freedom to move around or else we will be coop around them.

Joy and Sorrow are two sides of a coin, and we all are attracted to each of them as they impart wisdom and joy to man. This allows him to grow not only physically but also spiritually.

As man continues to make his decisions on what to wear, work, eat and play. His decisions are dependent on his aides around him. He will not be happy for long if he continues to tread on the path based on his decisions.

Man is happy in unison and thus, eventually his decisions will become biased. Community plays an important role in man's welfare and progress. Thus, making him inter-dependent on his fellow brethren.

Mantra for today: A community in consonance is a proof of happiness and progress.

Can any Journey be perfect?

Any trip can be an eye opener cause they always tend to teach us something in the end.

I remember making this road trip in India when I was a teenager. We were taking an excursion towards Jaipur, a city in Rajasthan.

We had rented a car and hired a driver. Thus, while he was driving the car, my family was sitting and enjoying the ride and the sights around the town.

It was a hot summer afternoon, and Rajasthan is known for its' high temperatures cause of the desert. However, we had our windows rolled up, and the air conditioner was on, with music in the background.

I was in the back seat near the window, enjoying the music and feeling relaxed with the cool air surrounding me.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise and my reflexes were strong enough to turn and hide my face. A person had thrown a stone towards our car, and it hit my window. The shattered glass was all around me. Our driver was quick enough to screech his brakes on time, in order to avoid a mishap on the road.

He was quick to take an exit to the nearest hospital while I lay still  since did not want any of the glass to penetrate further into the skin. That moment, while he was driving, I could feel the warm air blowing through that open window, and felt the changes in temperature and how my body was laying there vulnerable to the circumstance.

No man has control over mishaps. Although, we try hard to make our trips memorable and fun, but no journey is perfect.

Thank god, my wounds were not harsh, and I recovered in no time. We toured the city and returned home with memories.

Mantra for today: All journeys end, but they are not confined to a happy note, thus go with the flow.

The IMPACT of Music

Any music is good if it touches an individual’s heart and soul.

These days some radio stations, are playing the Christmas carols and will continue to do so until the New Year dawns upon us.

For the past few years, I have seen magic in the air with that kind of music. It tends to bring people in the mood for giving and that soothing music not only makes us hum along but also makes the heart melt with the inclination to get into Santa’s good list even though you have been naughty for those eleven months.

Man is greedy, and I admire his disposition for he wants to overwrite his book on karma by his actions in this month.

Is that possible?

Nah!

But, there are some who think so, and for the sake of humanity I nod with assertion.

I have seen miracles happen in this month.

Homeless people getting shelter, hungry families are getting a ration of supplies for a month, brothers who haven't spoken for a year will be seated next to each other for a meal, families re-uniting for Christmas after their dads/moms fly back from the war zone, peace treaties are signed, and even wars come to a halt for a festive season.

It is a heart warming sight!

I wish we had Christmas each month!

Lyrics do not matter when it comes to music for even when Hindi Bhajans or Christmas Carols in English are being played; the impact is overwhelming.

Mantra for today: Music has no barrier and knows no language or creed.

For the LOVE of books!

I grew up reading Archie comics, and even though the ending is known; I loved reading these comics and continue reading them at times.

Alas, Veronica would win most of the time, and Betty would stand a chance either when Veronica was sick or out of town!

Jughead was there to bring in humor amidst the triangle between Archie, Betty and Veronica.

What makes me wonder is how the writer/editor kept these comics entertaining for the public.

Money, beauty, style were the modes of attraction, which Veronica had in abundance. On the other hand was Betty a small town simple and level headed girl.

I remember as a teen, during summer holidays I and my cousin would sit with a double digest of Archie comics. We would get volumes of Archie comics. Sit together and at the beginning of each story pretend to be either Betty or Veronica, and then start reading the story, and would cheer if either of us (Betty or Veronica) would get Archie.

We would be sitting and doing the above exercise for hours.

Today, when I think back, I jeer a little and would like to ask the writer/editor some questions. How did he do it? How was he able to keep his readers glued to his books, and till date continue doing it?  Even though the ending was known.

Mantra for today: Only a writer has ways to keep his audience fascinated.

Food Concoctions

Let's face it..We are all food junkies.

The pie, and the cookies all cooked with loads of butter.

Thanksgiving is long gone, but the leftovers still haunt us.

In our heart of hearts,  we would love to eat junk food any time of the day, but then the conscious people refrain from it due to health issues.

Health is Wealth.
If Health is favorable, then we can make wealth.

Wealth is the King these days. In this materialistic world where style and technology are changing within a wink of an eye, we need wealth to keep up with this world.

So, in order to be happening we sacrifice this junk food, which is like a devil. It's making my mouth water right now while typing it.

So, either we can have a strong back bone and refrain from that kind of food or make a concoction of it and destroy our memories of what exactly it tasted like when we had it the last time.

Which one would you like to choose?

Making a Concoction is creative.

It could also taste good. Our taste buds could like the new so-called burger which is usually consisting of mayo, a slice of cheese, a patty, lettuce, slice of tomato, pickle. We could add a slice of cooked eggplant, a slice of zucchini, or any other vegetable which we hate the sight of.

Result?

This could either make us start liking the vegetable that we cannot stand the sight of or just cut back on our excess calories by refusing to eat another burger for a long time.

So, let's cook our favorite junk food in style. Decorate with all the vegetables or meat we hate the sight of and then serve it up in a humongous fancy platter.

Let's be superficial to ourselves and wait up for the reaction; we would love to have all this time.

Mantra for today: Live life to the fullest and enjoy!

The Essence of Life

Man in a Rat Race,
Running around relentlessly.

Stress at its' peak,
Taking life for granted.
One fine day, an unknown visitor arrives.
Life comes to a halt.
Hopes are shattered!
Man looks for choices in his life.
Wants to venture on the path less travelled,
To beat stress and bring harmony within.
The hopes of this atithi to leave soon.
But, the side-effects of this visitor has come upon Man.
He has learnt to be truly alive as he survives the anguish of death.

Mantra for today: Life is short, and we ought to make each moment count.

A Recap and the season of Renewal

Join in the fun at WriteTribe Festival of Words – a seven day blogging challenge – 1st September to 7th September 2013.

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.

-------

We reach the end of our journey and while writing the different seasons that we all endeavor, I was equally enlightened as I researched and wrote the different junctures that we all labor through and strive to come out of it unharmed.

Thank you for all the memories we made together as we encouraged each other's writings and took home a lesson from each one of them.

A Recap of the last six days:

Seven Reasons for Man to Rebuild

After spending 364 days of our lives while keenly watching each date pass by...we enter a new year. That new year's eve we look back at historic events that either made us cry or laugh while we vow to make amends for the coming year so that it can be a better one!

That is the Time for Renewal.

A time to refurbish our Goals, Ideas, Plans, Relationships, Ambitions, Aspirations, and Desires.

With the hope to achieve new dimensions in our life. This could range from financial freedom to enlightenment.

Man came alone and will walk solo to the finishing line.

This reminds me of a beautiful song, "Ekla Chalo Re"

As I part from this seven day writing period, I wish all of mankind the success they deserve.

See you at the Finishing Line. Namaste!

Seven Reasons for Man to Rebuild

Join in the fun at Fabulous Blogging

The theme is to write about ways to rebuild yourself.
-------

One Life but many hurdles.

Man tends to break down every now and then.

What could motivate him to get up and get moving?

“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”
― J.K. Rowling

Today I talk about the season of rebuilding.

Seven reasons for man to revive himself...no matter what!

  • Relationships: Gotta get up for the sake of your family or dear friends. It hurts them to see you dejected and refusing to lick your wounds.

  • Resolutions: The goals and ambitions of your life are all disseminated if not attended. Another motivation to get moving.

  • Robustness: Health is Wealth in today's times. Another incentive to move yourself so, that those muscles, and joints stay healthy till you breathe your last.

  • Rat Race: The cat will bell some other rat if you do not attend to your chores. Besides, how will the mortgage and bills be paid if you do not run in this rat race?

  • Respect: An individual who is idle will lose his dignity and admiration from others. Each person ought to work or contribute to make him earn this noun.

  • Religiosity: Whatever religion man follows, he ought to work to get some karma points. Sitting idle is considered a sin, thus move it Fellas.

  • Ratiocination: As it is said, "Empty mind is a devil's workshop." Man ought to keep his logistics running since that will help him avoid getting into depression.

Mantra for today: Reviving  oneself is like jump starting a car that keeps moving.

Seven Strategies to deal with Crisis

Join in the fun at WriteTribe Festival of Words – a seven day blogging challenge – 1st September to 7th September 2013.

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.

------

There comes a time in our life where man is standing in a critical situation and does not know what to
do.

This could be a financial or an emotional crisis. Man ought to stay determined on what he wants or desires from the situation, and he shall achieve it if he strives for it.

Today's theme is Period of Crisis

“I finally figured out that not every crisis can be managed. As much as we want to keep ourselves safe, we can't protect ourselves from everything. If we want to embrace life, we also have to embrace chaos.”
― Susan Elizabeth PhillipsBreathing Room

There are seven strategies to deal when in crisis

  • Calm: First and foremost is to calm your mind. Take deep breaths and do not let thoughts take over your body.

  • Close your eyes: Science has proved that meditation or saying a short prayer helps. Closing one's eyes can be therapeutic and can avoid thoughts coming in since the eyes are shut. This also helps in calming the mind.

  • Comparison: Man is all about connections at an equal level. Alas, that never happens. Thus, making comparisons helps the mind to mute. Once silent, this soul can then strategize on how to deal with the crisis.

  • Communicate: Conversing is very important especially with your loved ones or friends. This helps an individual lighten his burden and helps him design a blue print for the crisis while taking input from your friend/loved one.

  • Creative: Creativity spurs when the mind is silent, and an individual is communicating.

  • Contravene: Do not get intimidated by suggestions. Go with your gut feeling.

“Feelings are your guide. Trust your feelings and learn to express them, and do not blame anyone for how you feel. Be yourself, observe yourself. Look to understand any crisis you have been in or will be in.”
― Barbara MarciniakFamily of Light: Pleiadian Tales and Lessons in Living

  • Conclusion: Once a decision has been made. March ahead. Do not turn back.

An unstable condition in your life is a point where your inner strength is tested. You have to challenge yourself, and will be surprised by your potential.

Mantra for today: Challenges tend to strengthen the mind.

Seven Ways to Build your Confidence

Join in the fun at WriteTribe Festival of Words – a seven day blogging challenge – 1st September to 7th September 2013.

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.
------

One Life but many obstacles along the way. Chances are that we will fall and hurt ourselves physically and emotionally.
Physical aches and pains can be taken away by ingesting drugs. How can man drain off the emotional pain, which would encourage him to get up, lick his wounds and make him walk along the path of life?

Man needs self confidence within him to withstand all hurdles and challenge him to be a better self each day.

Today's theme is Period of Building.

“Life is ten percent what you experience and ninety percent how you respond to it.” ― Dorothy M. Neddermeyer

There are seven categories man can build upon for his well-being.

  • Built-Physical appearance sure is the first impression. Man ought to make sure he works on his outer appearance. However, since looks can be deceiving, he ought to concentrate on other steps.

  • Bold: Being courageous under any circumstances is a human way to live.

  • Brave: Challenges makes a man stand tall and withstand all hurdles in life. He ought to be audacious and fearless since he is the only intelligent animal on this planet. Thus, why fear!

  • Brain Power: Man is evolving by each minute of the day. Such is our mind set. If we want, we can train our mind, and withstand any natural disaster.

  • Blithe: Being happy and wearing a smile is not only good for our appearance but also good for our mind set. He should not leave his abode without this accessory.

  • Blissful: Being a dreamer helps innovation. The proof is around us. As long as our thoughts can be channeled into actions. This is one happy state of mind to be.

  • Buoyant: Flexibility in an individual helps bring families together since egos go vanishing. Man is a social animal thus, being light in spirit helps his emotional growth as he is around company.

“Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” ― Rumi, Essential Rumi

Oh! man identify what makes your self confidence low, and try to grab it. It is all within you.

Awareness is the key! Change your inner state, build your confidence and grab the ladder to success!

Mantra for today: Man's Belief  is the key to his success.

Seven Approaches to end Suffering

Join in the fun at WriteTribe Festival of Words – a seven day blogging challenge – 1st September to 7th September 2013.

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.

--------
Today, I talk about the Period of Suffering.

If there is no agony or pain in our lives, man will not be able to reflect on his blessings and move ahead in life.

Pain shows a spiritual path. This path is born only out of suffering, pain, disappointment and confusion. It eventually triggers an inner realization, and a deeper reality beckons as man heads towards a stable, simple and substantial life. This gives him the true meaning of LIFE while allowing him to treasure inner peace within him.

Gautama Buddha could not see the suffering around him, and he left his jewels and comforts in the palace to find a solution for all the pain and agony in the world.
Result: He found Nirvana.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” ― Kahlil Gibran

Hardships visit us all. It is the challenge on how to overcome the anguish that makes us continue living this life.

The well-known seven approaches to end the suffering in an individual are:
  • Stillness: Mind is a notorious organ and once that is brought under control by identifying your suffering. You can get the perception on your pain by creating awareness within yourself.
  • Scope: Finding the magnitude of your suffering is significant. This will help you be conscious of your pain and know the reason behind it.
  • Source: Once the range of suffering is identified by a still mind. You can find the reason behind your pain.
  • Stable: Being resistant on how to end the suffering can help an individual stay determined and focussed on his goal.
  • Staunch: Being resolute to this pain can be an important asset to your life.
  • Separate off: Cutting the chords off with pain can make you unattached to its results. Thus, allowing you to live in the present under any given circumstances.

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
― Rumi

  • Self-heal: Heal thy self by absorbing the principles of life. This is necessary to enjoy peace within you.

Mantra for today: Sufferings can have The End or The Beginning based on our attitude in Life.

Seven Strategies to Reflect upon

Join in the fun at WriteTribe Festival of Words – a seven day blogging challenge – 1st September to 7th September 2013.

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.

-------

Every now and then, Man tends to go into a period of reflection where he ponders over one's virtues and faults.

It is also a time where he reflects on his thoughts, emotions and analyzes the decisions in his life which help him to take wise steps for the future.

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
― Søren Kierkegaard

There are seven reasons to Reflect upon:

  • Review: Being able to give yourself time to analyze your mistakes and learn from them.

  • Rise: Get tips and ideas to progress from the current situation.

  • Relief: Assess your current situation and try to get relief from it by either asking for help or coming up with a solution.

  • Recollection: Time to recollect all the fond and not so happy memories and come to terms with it.

  • Remedies: Assessing your current situation and coming up with solutions to solve problems.

  • Readdress: Coming to terms with the past, and making amendments with it, helps man readdress the issues on a positive note, and that helps build a firm foundation for the future.

  • Realization: Awareness is the key to progress in all areas. If an individual is cognized about his habits and actions, he can ponder over them and try to make a conscious effort to change for the better.

Mantra for today: Being able to reflect upon your life and come to terms with your present will make an individual walk a mile towards success.

Seven ingredients for the Success of Man

The theme is to write about seven wonderful things that help shape our lives.
----

Man lives one Life, but he faces unlimited contingencies each day. Thus, making each moment exciting and appealing.

Every soul has a motto in life: To succeed.

For a man to succeed, secretion of adrenaline is necessary as it helps him to overcome many barriers in his life and climb the ladder of success. This success could be weighed in with material possessions or as values in life.

Success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get” ― W.P. Kinsella

Seven ingredients that can help man succeed in any outlook are:

  • Sincerity: As the saying goes, "Honesty is the best policy." Being honest in your dealings can take an individual to a higher stand. This stance could be weighed with money or principles in life.

  • Self-Respect: Self esteem is also an essential ingredient to be added for the success of the man. This additive brings dignity to an individual which helps him to deal with people around him.

  • Scrupulousness: Being thorough and aware of our surroundings can help man succeed either in financial dealings or taking his outlook of life to a higher aspect.

  • Soundness: If an individual is stable in his thoughts, it can help him climb the ladder of success which can either be of money or ethics of life.

  • Stability: Reaching out to people in distress shows how balanced an individual is, and that can relate to his rate of success.

  • Sympathy: Sharing feelings of compassion with others and trying to understand theirs; speaks a lot about your personality. This helps an individual climb the ladder of boom.

  • Sagacity: Wisdom is an important concoction for success. It helps an individual understand the inner qualities of people and that can equate to the prosperity of man in all aspects.

Mantra for today: Nothing is free in life. You want success; you pay for it. It can either be cash or kind.
