My Infatuations!

FTSF is here.

Today's sentence is: I used to love a bunch of things, but with age & circumstances many things changed.

As a teenager, I used to love watching television, listening to music, gossiping, and sleeping. But with time my love affair with the above fizzled.

When I started work; I loved shopping, and sleeping was still in my agenda. Unfortunately, this also lasted temporary due to a shift in priorities.

“Age does not make us childish as some say; it finds us true children.”
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Then came marriage when life was an adventure at each step as we were discovering each other in all aspects. I remember during weekends we would stay awake till 1am and go for grocery shopping or go to the movies. Sleeping at 5am, and waking up not until dusk. Indulging in junk food, and partying like crazy. Weekends consisted of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Parenthood:  That state of being better chaperoned than you were before marriage.  ~Marcelene Cox

When we became parents, things changed around drastically. Priorities were set, and what we loved was history.

Yes, having a child is surely the most beautifully irrational act that two people in love can commit.  ~Bill Cosby, Fatherhood

As we are aging, our priorities are shifting focus. This has resulted in changes within us. This change is good and shows our character. It shows how trustworthy, accountable and mature we could be. The chronicle of events that take place in our lives is left as memories as you age.

Mantra for today: Fond memories tend to stick with us like magnets.

Refusing to Age

Science has proved that we start to deteriorate, the day we are born.

However, man refuses to give in to the cycle of degeneration.

A Harvard based Australian researcher has found a secret to help slow down the aging process. He developed a synthetic molecule that help activate the anti-aging enzyme that directs other proteins to keep the cell healthy. Sure, being a biochemist, I was awed by this news of success since this drug once in the market will revolutionize mankind.

Amazing huh!

Sure, but with the many biochemical pathways that our body undergoes, I am worried if this will interfere with one such pathway that could turn out to be a recipe for disaster!

Also, once people consume that drug, longevity will increase. Now, with the human population increasing by every second, will our planet be able to take upon this burden?

My 2 cents!
Human body has been designed so intrinsically that even till today man is finding causes of the many diseases that inflict upon man! Thus, to try to transform something can provoke and create something monstrous.

Avoid touching the Laws of Nature. Be prepared to age since; that is just a number. It is the mindset that matters!

Mantra for today: Avoid touching the natural laws.

Do you accept your age?

We have all heard about some women lying about their age.

There are some who have been celebrating their 25th birthday since the last 5 years, and deny being old.

Wonder what goes on in their minds?

Are they scared to get old or  they yet have to accomplish some things in their lives so, the younger they are; the better.

I think it is the latter reason where she has a dream, and she yet has to achieve it.

Lying about her age will give her the mental satisfaction that she has time; and even though her body is aging; mentally she is not.

We all are aware that mind governs our body and many things around us. We can travel miles even though our body is sitting still. Mind is a powerful organ. It can help reverse our aging if we are determined towards it.

Mind Game
Thus, some women are playing the mind game where they want to achieve their dream by refusing to accept their age.

Jai ho to all the women who are playing the mind game, and wishing them the best!

Mantra for today:Mind is a powerful organ and can change a life dramatically.
