Advantages of Social Media

FTSF #9 is here.
Join in the fun!

“You know what I think of social media? I think it has made man lazier.

Man is a social animal and in "Olden" days man used to step out to meet his friends, and family. He also used to exchange long letters of welfare with each other, and would talk on the phone with them.

Gone are those days!

Man is  facebooking or tweeting his/her friend with minimum text just inquiring about each other's welfare.

Example:

X: h r u

Y: ok

X will think, at least she is alive and replying back.

End of Conversation.

There are some of us who don't even like to use alphabets. They use the smiley emoticons.

Throw out your dictionary since that is no longer needed. Download the emoticons and keep it in your pocket or file in your smart phone, where-ever; it is easily accessible.

Advantages of Social Media

  • Man has become more productive with his work.

  • Emotions/Feelings are exceptionally low since; conversation is at its' minimum.

  • Children and parents are bonding well with minimum arguments.

  • Time management is at its peak. Country progressing and the word inflation are  nowhere near the ozone layer of our planet.

Mantra for today: This is the era of Constant Confusion.

I honestly can see your point here and for many it has indeed made them lazier for me I only end up getting so much more done in a day even with the distractions. Go figure, but you are right that for many this is not true at all. Thanks seriously for sharing and linking up and have of course voted for you!!

Yeah, it's definitely made people lazier about relationships. The whole text speak though? Hate it. No respectable adult should use it. Ever.

Not that I have strong opinions about it or anything. Snort.

I haven't gone any further with today's shorthand other than OMG and LOL but with an iPhone my emojis speak for me sometimes (guilty). I get nervous about someone who is in a new relationship and all they do is text the other person. To me that is just strange. I hate to think of the future of my son communicating with a girl this way or his wife.

I agree that it has gone a little overboard. I find myself using unnecessary punctuation (!!!!) so people don't get offended, etc.

The social media shorthand drives me crazy! I admit it is very convenient to communicate this way, but you're right, it is lazy, especially when it comes to developing deeper relationships.

You're so right that it's made people lazier. I can't stand it when I see LOL - I always think "really? you thought it was funny or is this just some dumb response because you have nothing to add?"

I totally agree that social media and actually the computer in general has made man lazier. I don't see any way that it will reverse. We have created a monster. :)

I don't know--maybe, less personal--it is a shame in any case
