My Review

Rapid Fall is a story of two characters namely Sonia and JD, who happen to fall in love, but admit it after some hesitation. The story revolves around how they meet, depart and then meet again for a happily ever after. There are no but's and if's and not much of a climax except for a commitment issue from JD who has not yet been able to come to terms with his previous relationship, thus the phobia or the aversion.

The main characters could have been dissected further to give the reader a clear understanding of their desires. Sonia's abrupt crying on JD's shoulder was a bit difficult to digest especially since she is the HR of her department, and that is her job, and then why the overwhelming shriek. The Author could have gone a little deep in that matter to gain some sympathy from the reader for the character.
Also being able to strike a balance in the character of JD was needed. 

The book is a quick read giving the reader a short glimpse into the thrill of the swirling waters, and the adventure along that edge can be exhilarating to the soul. Thus, recommending it to the audience who would love a neat love story!

'Sixteen and counting' are the number of cities that I have lived in so far. I like to think of myself as a 'Metronaut'. The myriad city cultures, the food, the hustle and bustle, the people are all elements of life that I thrive on and if you can have an 'Astronaut' why not a 'Metronaut' after all there are so many more of us out there?
I believe in the Zen tenet that every situation has a 1000 truths. It helps me write and it definitely helps when I am dealing with my two children. I like reading, I like cooking, I like travelling and I love sitting like a mindless zombie in front of the TV and if anybody says anything to that....Aha! a 1000 truths come in very handy.
I also write under a pen name M.X Steele. Why? My daughter thought Adiana Ray was too boring a name.
I do hope you enjoy reading all my work because I believe passionately that though we writers love pontificating and are totally in love with whatever we write; at the end of it all it is the readers that matter and above all what we write has to be 'entertaining'.

A Dying Wish

Celine is tossing and turning in pain, but determined to kill the hours and postpone the event that could help create a future.

Where Darkness reigns

The clocks strike 5am, and Latha wakes up and walks cautiously to the kitchen.

The walls help support her, and give her way to her destination.

While the kettle is brewing, her fingers stroll gently over the paper, and that makes her eyebrows twitch and eyes moist.

"Gosh! Life is so dingy out there, and people are getting ambiguous of their existence." she says with a deep sigh as she holds the cup prior to pouring the warm fluid in it.

Seats herself guardedly and a smile crosses her lips as she murmurs with confidence, "I see no difference in the lives of people with sight and mine. We both are sailing in darkness. Although, I am aware that my life is absolute even though I reign in this darkness."

Wordless Wednesday #51

I caught this tree squirrel on my fence, busy eating.

What caught my attention is the posture of this creature.

He is curled up while consuming something, and made me ponder over the display in attitude over many animals. They all exhibit a particular kind of demeanor while eating.
Call it a form of gratitude for getting a morsel to eat especially when disposed of to the wild wild world.

Man, on the other hand, is usually sitting with a full plate and in front of the idiot box!

Does a size matter when it comes to obtaining a crumb for survival?
I don't think so! It's the attitude that matters in the end!

When chow becomes a debris!

Leila rushed into the patio with a rolling pin in her hand; her mouth was giving away a foul language in a high pitch as she was moving the pin in an agitated way to drive that thing away, and never to return.

After a few minutes she was at peace with the situation.

Walked in to see the mess.

Nodded her head in dismay, as she pulled her hair back and took a mop and started cleaning up the goo caused by the spill of the red sauce from the pasta and the custard that had splattered everywhere.

About the Author</

Even as a kid, Sundari Venkatraman absolutely loved the 'lived happily ever after' syndrome as she grew up reading all the fairy tales she could lay her hands on, Phantom comics, Mandrake comics and the like. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy end. Soon, into her teens, she switched her attention from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to a local hero and heroine.

Her imagination took flight and she always lived in a rosy cocoon of romance over the years. Then came the writing - a true bolt out of the blue! She could never string two sentences together. While her spoken English had always been excellent - thanks to her Grandpa - she could not write to save her life. She was bad at writing essays in both school and college. Later, when it was time to teach her kids, she could manage everything from Science to Mathematics and History & Geography.

When it came to writing compositions, her kids found her of no help at all. All this changed suddenly one fine day in the year 2000. She had just quit her job at a school's office and did not know what to do with her life. She was saturated with simply reading books. That's when she got home one evening after her walk and took some sheets of paper and began writing. It was like watching a movie that was running in her head - all those years of visualising Indian heroes and heroines needed an outlet and had to be put into words. That's how her first novel, The Malhotra Bride, took shape.

While she felt discouraged when publishing did not happen, it was her husband who kept encouraging her not to give up. There was no looking back after that. While publishing took a long time happening, Sundari continued to write novels and then short stories. Her luck turned when Indireads approached her to write for them and Double Jeopardy was born.

Now it’s all about self-publishing her books on Amazon. Her first self-published book is The Malhotra Bride (2nd Edition) in February 2014. Then came Meghna in June 2014. And now it's time to unveil The Runaway Bridegroom, all set to release on September 13, 2014.
