Namaste!

In our Hindu culture, when it comes to receiving blessings we believe in folding our hands or touching the elders' feet. It is known to impart the necessary benediction for one's progress and welfare.

As a teen, I would always jeer at this tradition cause that was the age when raging hormones were being produced in plenty. It gave rise to my confidence thanks to the ego that lay beneath it. Life was an adventure in every nook. It was fearless, conquerable although that would raise the eyebrows of my parents who maybe knew where this would end thus, would either stay quiet or say an extra prayer for me.

Meeting Indian elders' was not a mere Hello but either folding hands and doing a namaste or touching their feet. The latter I did not believe in, so opted for the former. I do admit there were times I would just mumble the word beneath my breath and barge into their homes.

Anyways, fast forward.

Time flew, and I realized the importance of good wishes. Maybe the failure to reach my goals made me want to crave for it. Maybe I had reached my potential and needed a push from there after. Maybe the desire to touch the sky and be limitless wanted me to secretly have that super-pill that was actually very easy if I could only discard my ego and be ready to either touch the feet of elders or do a mere namaste with my hands locked.

Patience is more than a virtue since I realized being humble is another quality that can make you walk that extra mile. Anyways, I went ahead and embraced both. I admit I have not touched the sky or reached where I want to in this lifetime, but the happiness, the satisfaction, the contentment I receive when I receive a nod and hand over my head or shoulder. The energy is just mind blowing. It rejuvenates me and fills me up with positivity to go ahead with my day.

Mantra for today: It takes a lot of courage to push that ego aside.

Wordless Wednesday #87

The seeds in the bird feeder are being nibbled by the mighty squirrel while the birds choose to eat the few besprent on the ground.

Call it the pecking order by the size. But peace prevails, and they eat in harmony!

Such a power structure occurs in thy man thus leading to hierarchy. Sometimes, it is considered good since work can be executed promptly but mostly it is looked down upon!

Mantra for today: Usually Ego and Hierarchy walk hand in hand thus, making it look evil most times.

P.S. Wordless Wednesday will be back on 24th June

Shedding tears while parting...

Mom was visiting me and even though we had a great time under the same roof for good 5 weeks; we departed with tears.

These tears could be a sign of,"I will miss you"

But, I was trying to understand the complexity of a human and also my behavior, when under the same roof, we would fight, argue, and even laugh on various issues.

We were quite satisfied with our time together and were ready to part ways so that we could tread upon our path of life and continue to do what we are good at..

Then, when parting, why would we shed a tear?

I felt that this tear symbolized about the issues I could have been open about, but did not care to, cause of my EGO.

I also realized that there were times when she wanted some of my time, but I did not give in cause of my own deadlines or a routine to follow.

I must admit; I would not be upfront with her over various subjects that affected us in many ways.

So, were those tears symbolizing an indirect, "Sorry!" besides saying, "I will miss you!"

Mantra for today: Personality check 24/7 can help an individual avoid repentance.

The Power of I AM

Man is a powerful being. His intelligence today has made distances shorter, and life easy. The proof is in front of us.

Conclusion: His ability to invent many gadgets has not only helped him but also mankind.

Thus, giving him the ability to declare himself as a smart individual.

Unfortunately, being smart also tends to bring in ego. This ego drains his relationship with another Homo Sapien, and that gives rise to hatred and crime.

If only a man can draw a line between his accomplishments and his ego.

This world would be a better place to live. Unfortunately, that awareness is missing.

He is treading on a path of I AM where his intelligence overrides his personality making him turn into an animal.

Being aware of one's actions and conduct is the key!

Mantra for today:  (Lao Tzu) The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.

What are you so Proud of?

We all need a  little bit of  Pride to live a worthy life.

However, if this Pride reaches a certain level, it could turn into Ego.

Alas, the route is down hill for a person surrounded by Vanity. He will suffer mentally and emotionally, which could turn into a physical torment.

Knowing the level of pride within is very important.

A certain amount of pride will help a man sustain amidst all the turmoil he faces. This pride will make him get up when in shambles. It will be his stick to hold on to, when surrounded by negativity.

What is that pride within you, that makes you get up and get going each day?

I take pride in being an intelligent human. However, the day I forget to gratify my existence, vanity will take my pride over.

Mantra for today: Gratification and Pride go hand in hand.

A Land of Tears

FTSF is here. Join in the fun.

“If I could live anywhere I would live in the land of tears"

Tears signify emotions, and when an individual is emotional; he is truthful to himself and others.

Sure, it will be a land of constant tears, and that could get dreary, but there will be mixed feelings in the air.

There will be tears for:

  • Vulnerability
  • A sign of cooperation
  • A sign of helplessness
  • Relieving stress
  • Laugh so hard until one cries
  • Joy
  • Regret

Advantages

Relationships will grow healthy because of tears. Each individual will be transparent as tears will help him unfold the emotions within in while letting go of his ego.

That place will be a land of contentment as sorrows and happiness will accompany man. However, tears will help this man unfold as a result, his thoughts will be see-through, and his actions will be lucid.

Mantra for today: A person without tears; tends to suffer more.
