A World Beyond Fiction

Many times, friends have asked me about my change from biochemist to writer.

Why?
What happened?

"Biochemistry is all about logic, train of thought, and science that actually makes sense. And now you are in a world filled with fiction?"

Sure, that is not a pleasant thing to say, but then I wonder: we are all living in a world of fiction where tomorrow is uncertain and yesterday was full of drama and emotions, while today is a rinse-and-repeat of yesterday.

So really, we are all getting our feet wet in this confusing world. The only difference is that I am writing down my thoughts, letting my mind explore, while others keep everything mixed up in their heads as they think and think about what is bothering them and can’t find an answer!
Seeing their confused look, I then ask them to try this: set a timer for five minutes and write whatever is on your mind, without worrying about structure or grammar. It can be a feeling, a moment from today, or even a question that keeps coming back. Let your thoughts flow onto the page and see where it leads you.

We now live in a world full of lies and myths, and it doesn’t get any stranger than this!

The only difference is that a few of us can turn that fiction into words. Meanwhile, most keep it all inside because they don’t find the right words, moving restlessly like a Duracell bunny hoping to find a way to solve their inner struggles.

Nothing is stranger than fiction because we are all living it, breathing it, often without realizing it, and when asked a very personal but basic question, "How are you doing?"

Many think about it and wonder how they have really been doing!

Seriously!
Do we actually need others to ask us that to think about it?

My 2 cents
How much stranger can it get than this? How much pain can a person bear besides living in a world full of uncertainty?

Let's live beyond fiction by being determined in our today. This means making intentional choices, even when the world feels uncertain or overwhelming. Start penning those thoughts since the solution to each problem lies within us.
