A Period of Doubt

Since all of us are imperfect, there are times when we face ambiguity on various junctions in life.

Sure, that is normal.

Question is how do we come out of it?

Do we start biting our nails (which some of us do) or breathe rapidly?

Alas, none works cause we gotta pay attention to things that will make us patient and calm at that point. It could either be deep breathing for some, exercise for many or meditate for a bunch.

Whatever helps to calm your nerves at that point of time to feel better, just do it.

A period of apprehension can make any individual lose sight of what is right or wrong, and that can either make him take a hasty decision, which could turn into something disastrous.

Pondering over it for hours is helpful or even sleeping on the issue would be recommended.

A new morning gives a new insight to the problem with a positive approach.

A classic example that the corporate world tries to use is giving a pink slip on Friday's.

Ever wonder why?

No, not because it is Thank God It is Friday (TGIF), but it gives an individual to ponder over his next move.

Theoretically the individual has a weekend (which usually is a lull period for all), where he can analyze his next move, and he can choose to ground himself, research his avenues, and look into reshaping his future by making adjustments to his present situation.

Similarly, ask a high schooler whose one test score brings her GPA down. Questions such as "Why", "How" are very common. Honestly, there is no turning back but, moving forward with a new perspective will only come to her rescue.

Ask an individual who has been diagnosed with a life threatening disease. Sure, there is shock and tears with the thought that how could my body do this to me? The period of doubt makes a person's thought process slow down. But, then ultimately he fights back to stay in the game.

My 2 cents
Time is not constant, and that makes the period of doubt unsteady. This results in nothing being constant, neither joy nor the ambiguity in life.

How do you deal with apprehensions?

Mantra for today: We all are living a life that is cryptic and arcane thus, a small period of problem is like a needle in the haystack. Live it up!

A Woman, A Goddess!

India, a country of many religions and beliefs, recognizes the Supreme power with many names as a God and a Goddesses.
The Women of that country are put on the pedestal in the form of Goddesses. Since she is the creator of the planet, and her powers are, in match with the divinity.
Unfortunately, respect and dignity is not in the cards when it comes to treating the women. Thus, she ought to be a strong, and an independent individual by fighting for her rights and breaking all those barriers that keep her enclosed.
Some necessary steps for a woman to be strong and gain her freedom are within her. She has to learn to battle within herself, learn to protect herself and speak her mind since; life will not sustain if she becomes invisible.

Fight your Mind: A woman should have the courage to argue with her subconscious mind and try to be her real self. Argue to such an extent that your mind will give up and say, “Okay, do what you want to do.” Once that signal comes in, bring your thoughts into the action and do not delay.
Be Self-Aware: Know about your finances, politics, and the money transfers. Ignorance is never bliss, and a woman could be taken for granted. Exercise your rights as being aware of the above in your family. Take the initiative to ask questions and make decisions if you feel something is not fair. Being quiet and submissive is not the solution.
Be Confident: Once you venture out in the wild world, you will tend to make many decisions. Some could be right, and some could go wrong. Do not falter over your bad decisions. Right and wrong conclusions are the two sides of a coin. If you will not fall, how will you make a right decision next time? Be confident in your stance even if the world jeers at you and calls you names.
Find your source of ignition: Each human runs on fuel of inspiration, which he/she gets from some activity such as playing a sport, cooking, meditating, yoga. This surges her/his adrenaline and makes him/her confident to face the world. Find your passion that helps ignite you, and strengthens you while making you venture into the world.
Use Earplugs: When a woman is making decisions in the man’s world, there will be instances when she will hear a lot of opinions on how, why, what, where. She will be questioned for her each act. Use earplugs and do not worry about what the world has to say. You are a confident and an intelligent woman. Sway yourself with poise along the crowd and do what your mind pleases.
Protect yourself: Even though, we are in the 21st century; it is still a man’s world in many aspects. Protect yourself physically by carrying some form of protection such as a pepper spray to be a deterrent when attacked.
Conclusion
Oh, Woman, you are the life of this planet.
You are the Mother, the Creator, and an Individual whose positivity radiates within you while you show Perseverance, Spontaneity, Inspiration, the Elegance and the Patience to endure all that is thrown at you.
Man has outlined you as a Goddess with divine beauty. But, you are much more than exterior beauty and should not be threatened by them around you.
Man has been trashing you in all aspects, but oh, Woman you are too stiff to bow down.
You are sensitive to the needs of your children; your man and you are the greatest lover, a healer, a homemaker, and positivity radiates from you and showers to the world.
Jai Ho! Woman.

My Role Model

As a teenager, some quotes are drilled into you, more so to keep you grounded since that is an age to dream big and turn all stones to reach the goals in life (at least for those who dare to dream)

" Life is not a book. Every time you make a mistake in your life, you can't go back and rewritten or redo it to make it right because life doesn't work that way."

" Believing is Succeeding. Believing will take you far, but Succeeding will take you further."

"How many shoes do you need? Look at those who have no feet."

Sure, being negative is not the key in bringing up a child, but my parents made sure I see the other side of the grass cause it is not only green but also helps keep a growing being to stay connected to his roots while he is being exposed to all the comforts of living.

"Wasting food? Look at those who don't get a single serving of food on a daily basis?"

The words would be harsh, no doubt.

But, today that  gives me the respect, admiration for the people living on the streets, cause they are thriving in spite of their current conditions. Sure, they don't have a smile on their face but they are not crying either. As they look at all the passers by walking past them with their eyes hooked to their screens, they must be wondering what a carefree life they lead. At least they don't fret over their bills or mortgages and sleep content although theoretically their stomachs would be grumbling for a morsel, but at least their minds are carefree and jaunty.

Such people are thriving amidst the harsh surroundings that are a combination of weather, hostility and circumstances. I wonder how thick skinned they must be?

One day water supply gets cut off, or the electricity goes off on a hot summer day or no transportation to be seen around, we bang our feet hard on the street with frustration and are shouting off at every person we come across and put up a status as "having a bad day" on social media outlets just to gain some sympathy.

What do these people do? nothing!

One such homeless person who walks down the street of my workplace. He opts out of the shelter for the night just to give his bed to another woman who needs it more than him since he can brave the cold and the terror on the lonely streets compared to a lonely homeless woman.

He who has seen the four walls of a home, the comforts, the two servings of the hot meal to losing everything in the name of bad luck, fate or kismet is still composed at the tender age of 70 years old. He has no ambitions, since he has lived his life, and his memories are good enough to keep him company as he sits on the streets of Lucerne Drive while people walk past him throwing in a coin or two in his cup that clinkers and it gives him hope for a decent meal. He opens his eyelids now and then that droops either due to the heat or hunger and fatigue, to pick up the metallic money and slide them in his pocket.

I gathered guts to ask him, "what keeps him alive and motivated at this age and in an old body?"

He had just a word for me, that gave me the shivers down the spine along with goose bumps cause even though this word has been spoken "n" number of times in sitcoms, radio shows and holy places, but when it came from a person who has  seen it all and is currently sitting in a dungeon with nowhere to go; made me feel that this four letter word can truly do wonders if clung to.

Hope!

He dreams for a future that will be brighter than his today. His imagination is clinging onto the past fond memories that triumphed over all sorts of griefs and sorrows. He clings on this hope. This sure gives him the respect and appreciation and makes him a role model not just for me, but also for all the  who are climbing the ladder of life.

Mantra for today: Dreams give hope, and that makes a person breathe.
