My Review

Mr. Imperfect Series is a story of three women Nikki, Sonali, and Maya, who are independent, self-sufficient and unconstrained by the traditions of the society. Each has a mind of their own and are not scared to speak of it when given the microphone. These women while paving their respective paths meet special men in their lives that deliver promises and are fearless to keep what their utter thus, helping them earn extra brownie points that helped turn their relationship into a  union that made the boys become their admirable better halves.

Life is about compromises, give and take and adjustments. These three couples were determined to bear it all in spite of their promising career. They were ready to take chances even though their respective profession did not allow it. For instance Nikki, a realtor made a choice of dating Karan her client which turned into a promising future for both of them. Ishan took a chance of meeting Sonali after his recent breakup and that too turned into a success. Maya's meet up with Tahir turned into a blossoming liaison.

The author gave a perfect balance to these three couples by dedicating a whole story behind them. Although, it would have been even more interesting to see some twists and turn into their respective plots to keep the reader intrigued for more!

The author, Aditi Chopra has delivered a strong message via these three couples. Mr. Imperfect Series is a book trying to tell a saga of humans of all shapes and sizes who are successful yet imperfect in many ways. They don't fear to jump into the pit of taking a chance and gamble their life to a happily ever after. Thus, making it a recommended breeze read on a dull, mundane Sunday evening.

My "lunatic" neighbor

Every morning once the kid is dropped to school I try to go for a brisk walk around my neighborhood to jolt my metabolism so that it keeps pumping when I indulge into my routine of to-do's, must have's, deadlines, hubbubs of the day!

On the first day of my morning walk, I saw a man in his mid-50's sitting on his front lawn and waving out to passersby. At first I was a little hesitant, so I just nod at his wave and pass by feeling very strange.

As the days went by, I started getting immune to his friendly smiles and "howdy!" greeting. Soon, I began to reciprocate, and honestly it would fill me up with lots of positivity.

But soon a red alert was sounded in my ears when my neighbor tagged him as a lunatic, crazy old man who has lost his mind thus sits outside to do the above.

The word, "mad" threw me in a frenzy cause I feared my safety. Thus, started to avoid him but used to feel sorry to not reciprocate.

Every morning turned into a dilemma and the hurtful feeling of having to prevent a friendly smile thus forced me to invent a new path for my walk.
But deep inside I was not satisfied. My mind and my heart started arguing over the word, "lunatic" and wanted to know more about this man.

Thus, started the Sherlock Holmes inside me. I started poking around for some more information about this person. Since he lives in my lane, retrieval of information was quick.

I was heart broken on how we assess somebody!
He is a chartered accountant and has a command on his numbers thus, helps file taxes for busy people like you or me, and just cause he wants to spare some time to spread his cheerfulness around, we attach a maniac label next to him.

Who is the actual jerk in all this?

The world really needs more of such "tagged" jerks while we who proudly label them as maniacs should take a back seat!

Mantra for today: Never evaluate a book by its cover!

A Rose and a Life

Chaplin's vitals were not co-operating; leaving the docs confused. He was equally dejected since he wanted to live and be around the empire that he built.

With moist eyes, he looked out the window and observed a bud that had bloomed into a rose, which eventually withered away. The process had been continuous for days, and this gave him the essence of his being.

He had to let go his diseased body and make himself liberated from the bondage of sentiments. As he stared at the dry rose, he breathes his last, shedding his flesh and sorrows.

I love day-dreaming and my close friends in this endless activity include Hamlet, Howard Roark, Absolem, Miss Marple, Elizabeth Bennett, Katniss Everdeen, Holly Short, Sirus Black, Gimli and Septimus Heap.. occasionally, Saphira also :) Otherwise, I am a serious hard-nosed print journalist who writes about politics, social issues and culture..
I've spent most of my life reading and writing.. I also love movies, dance, theatre, music, trekking, yoga.. I tried my hand at Russian and French and remember Rooski Izink Nimnoga and je sais un peu de Francaise .. (I bet I got that wrong).. but the latest language I picked up, Spanish, is very close to my heart, as I want to read Gabriel Garcia Marquez's yellow butterflies in Espanol.. I speak, read and write three Indian languages -- Kannada, Hindi, Tamil .. and my masters is in English, so I obviously love language and communication..
I also love knitting and I hate cooking :) I'm trying very hard to be good at a new job -- parenting -- to my three-year-old, but boy, is that the toughest job!

Wordless Wednesday #87

The seeds in the bird feeder are being nibbled by the mighty squirrel while the birds choose to eat the few besprent on the ground.

Call it the pecking order by the size. But peace prevails, and they eat in harmony!

Such a power structure occurs in thy man thus leading to hierarchy. Sometimes, it is considered good since work can be executed promptly but mostly it is looked down upon!

Mantra for today: Usually Ego and Hierarchy walk hand in hand thus, making it look evil most times.

P.S. Wordless Wednesday will be back on 24th June

Hangover with Nature

The skies were covered with cotton balls. Some were vulnerable and swept by the wind while some stayed stagnant, stubborn to move an inch.

Joe observed them and compared the various shapes and sizes of the trees that stood still while giving a contrast to blue skies.

Breathes deep and dived into the water that initially made him shiver, but eventually the goosebumps faded sending him into a comfort zone of enjoying nature and being one with it.

"Aha! This creation has its ways to make us feel complacent!" he whispered as he wiped excess water off his face.

Today's WW is about Lines!

A line plays such a significant role in our lives, and yet we choose to ignore it many a times.

This line can help shape our future by helping thy men connect or break up. It also relates to cracks in foundations or relationships.

Mantra for today: One feeble line yet gives out such strong messages!
