Tra-La-La-La, La-La-La!

This is the tune that has been ringing in our household ever since we passed the Thanksgiving weekend. No doubt the local radio station has also uplifted our moods since Carols play 24*7. Even though they are repetitive but somehow the music is what continues to make me tap my foot as I type this post.

"This holiday season, I hope we all can make a difference in our thoughts, which could bring out positive actions thus leading to beneficial consequences that people can embrace with a smile without wrinkling that forehead or moving their head in sheer disgust."

Reminds me of a famous song by John Lennon!

Holidays are the time when the man can pause, ponder, reflect and correct his actions.

Fortunately, we all get to celebrate holidays each year. But, with each passing year, the resolutions are made, dumped, and forgotten!

The world is getting an intolerant place to live.

We all are partially to be blamed for all that we are facing today.

To stand up, object, raise our voice and/or to choose a path of sanity.

All this requires an individual to be audacious and bold. It sure is not an easy journey especially if we take the plunge.

The dive to erase the ugliness around our society. To jump and hold out a hand in distress. To sweep out the hatred by just a smile and a hug. To dunk and help open the trunk of lies, secrets and help change for the better.

The journey is tough, but the destination will be a pleasant one! Not just for us, but for generations to come.

Tolerance and Mankind go hand in hand.

Are we ready to be the first to take the plunge!

Time to mend our ways and be responsible for the sake of humanity all over the world!

'Tis the season

'Tis is the season when the lyrics of War is over hums constantly in my ears....

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The road is so long.
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...

Time to mend our ways and be responsible for the sake of humanity all over the world!

Merry Christmas and see ya'll when the new year dawns upon us.

Write Tribe

Write Tribe has selected words and a story ought to ooze out of it.

Join hands to have fun and be creative.

Below story is written by my kid, who is 10 year old.

-------

On December 21st, 1999, the roads were busy. This was mostly because of the preparations for the upcoming New Year’s Party, where people would make their new year’s resolution.

Kids were totally into the Christmas spirit. They would pin each other with snowballs until each of them would pass out from the cold. They called it “Getting Hit in the Neck until You Pass Out”. The kids would flip a coin to see who would be their first target.  It was totally wild and fun.

Ninety-five percent of kids would play their snowball game while the other five percent would help their parents tidy up the house, decorate the Christmas tree and fall off the ladder many times while putting the star on the bush.

As the majority of the kids were on a rampage and were throwing at anything and anyone in sight, including babies and parents, the parents wrote postcards wishing their relatives in other states or countries around the world. As the sun set, the kids would come home and do a very peculiar thing: They would stare at the calendar and hope that staring at it would speed time up, and Christmas would come. When the Christmas pact would become active (made July 4th, 1776, with Declaration of Independence) kids are free of their chores and responsibility of making their bed, studying every day, and stuff like that on Christmas.

Finally Christmas is here, and kids jump up from their bed and rush to their Christmas tree. While playing with their gifts, they wish and hope that Christmas day never ends.

Mantra for today(as told by my kid): I wish Christmas would be a day free of chores!

How to get in the Christmas Spirit?

Christmas is a once in a year affair.

In spite of all the crimes and hatred around the globe. It is one time where man wishes for peace and happiness.

However, I wish that time freezes and we could be in the moment for ever...Amen!

Memories made during that time, can always cheer us, and help us bring in the Christmas Spirit early on.

Here are some questions posed by my blogger friend, Michelle via her blog.

Answering them and passing on the baton to all who read this, and help them look back on their time, and cherish those memories.

1. What’s the coolest stocking gift you’ve ever received?

My first cell phone came as a stocking gift. I was ecstatic and still possess it even though I don't use it anymore.

2. Do you prefer to wrap gifts or use gift bags? (Short and easy one)?

I prefer to use newspapers for gift wrapping gifts for my family members. For friends, I prefer using the fancy wrapping paper.

3. What’s the weirdest ornament on your tree?

There is no weird ornament on our tree. Each of them has a beautiful memory thus, cannot find it strange.

 4. What are your thoughts on re-gifting?

If I don't like a gift, I prefer to donate it to various shelters. I feel that keeping it with me will not make me like it. Thus, give it off with the hope that someone somewhere some place might treasure it.

5. Describe the best Christmas morning you’ve ever had?

My best Christmas morning was the morning when I received my first cell phone. I could get connected with the outside world even on the go.

So, asking the similar questions to ALL who read this, and I hope I can help bring you your Christmas Spirit early on!

Mantra for today: Good memories can be magical.
