"What! How can that be?" I howled, "How can our teacher give us a surprise test?" I exclaimed as I sat on the bench with a thud staring at the paper while rubbing the back of my neck.
I chewed my pen while fingering my necklace, trying to find the solution to those questions.
Just then, the alarm buzzed.
I woke up with a start with sweat on my forehead.
When I realized my surroundings, I pressed my palm against my eyes and gave out shaky laughter.
"Oh! God, I promise I'm going to study before this comes true!"

I made that promise many times when in school. lol
Ha! That's one way to find the motivation to study! Those kinds of dreams can be so distressing.
That's classic! My classmates would get so stressed about tests. My secret was to attend class (mostly) and get a good night's sleep. But never study or stress.
I am retired now and I STILL have dreams like that. Sometimes I am back in high school dealing with a pop-up math quiz. Sometimes I am back in college and I can't even find my classroom or am missing a class. Sometimes it is dealing with work-related issues (can't find the right medication, can't close because there's a constant line that never ends, etc.), but once awake, it's better. ~nan
