Wordless Wednesday #70

This appetizing plate made my bile juices secrete in abundance. However, when I went to bite into it, all the layers came falling down.

Obviously! The human mouth can open only up to two inches. How could I possibly ingest it without pulling it apart?

This multi-layer burger allowed me to ponder over life and the many comforts it gives. But, ultimately, man just needs the necessities that could be translated as a mere burger patty, a slice of cheese; tomato; and onion. That could be deciphered as food, shelter, water, clothing.

Mantra for today: Abundance is enchanting, but ultimately the man can still survive with the necessities.

A Suitor

Darci was pacing the garden in anxiety.

The fruit tree was bearing the crop every thirty minutes, thus making the tree lean over due to the heavy weight.

"What's happening?" she looked at it in bewilderment as she glared at its' branches and stared at the roots.

"Are you under a spell?" she asked while stroking the bark of the tree.

Just then, the earth trembled beneath her. Darci ran away from the tree and soon she could hear continuous and loud plops. Turned towards the noise, and to her dismay, she saw apples falling into the small opening of the earth one by one.

"Gosh! Now, what is this?" she murmured and twitched her hands in apprehension.

"I am going...going and soon will be gone. Rescue me, if you can," came a shriek from the tree.

Her gut reaction made her leap towards the tree and caught a falling apple.

She held it tight, and kissed it while eyeing the others as they were being dumped into the core of the planet.

Soon the drama was over. She could only see a bare tree, tears rolled out of her eyes and some fell on the apple. The apple twitched; that made her throw the apple away in fear. Soon the Apple transformed into the young male. He approached her and held her trembling hands while bowing down to get permission to tie the knot.

Darci was happy yet confused.

"There were many suitors; you picked me, my love!" he said while kissing her hand and placing a ring on her finger.

Mantra for today: Nature has its way to surprise us.

The Results are in!

"Harry the results are in!" shouted Mom while holding the newspaper in one hand and giving a hard push to the sleepy head.

"So what do I do?" came a torpid reply.

Confused mom stared at him in bewilderment.

Gulped in order to control her temper, and tried to speak softly while avoiding to break off, "Well, give me your number, and let's check if you cleared."

"Sure, first let me catch up on my sleep. The results are here to stay!"

Perplexed Mom was astonished and wondered where is the element of excitement located in her son.

Review of Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog by Deanie Humphrys-Dunne

Description

Charlene the Star makes new friends in this exciting adventure. She wants to win a special award for jumpers. She must learn important things if she wants to reach her goal. Does she succeed? How does Hattie react when she sees the headline in The Gazette? Why is Cherish so afraid? Your child will be fascinated with the amusing adventures of Charlene and her friends. Children will be entertained and learn important life lessons.

My Review

This story is primarily about Charlene, the horse and Bentley the bulldog who share the same stable.

Charlene is an accomplished horse decorated with ribbons and her master; Mary Harris is very proud of her. Charlene is a grounded horse and enjoys the company of her mates.

Bentley is a bully, and this story is about how Charlene and the chicken Hattie help bring out the best quality in Bentley. This is followed by success to a fair that is organized by them along with animals of other farms.

This story has a moral ending thus allowing children to ponder over nouns like unity, friendship, happiness followed by a happy ending! Thus, making it a highly recommended story for elementary children.

This is the author Deanie's third series of Charlene the Star books, and she continues to deliver a beautiful story telling with the same characters.

Turning Point of Life

Someone once asked me, "What was the turning point of your life?"

“What's meant to be will always find a way.”
― Trisha Yearwood

For me, it was leaving the corporate job and become a nobody from a somebody. Sure, it was a tough decision. But that helped me discover my passion, interests and realize what ticked me off.

These days there are many of us who hardly understand the reason for their distress. Who has the time to ponder over it?

It's like someone declaring, "I am hungry." But never ponder over the reason.
In the same way, our moods change since we are unhappy about something, and we just make the statement by, not wanting to go beneath the sheets to identify the culprit.

Fortunately, I have the time to introspect thus, avoiding stress to take a toll on my health.

“Hold fast to dreams,
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird,
That cannot fly.”
― Langston Hughes

While I was living in my bliss and realizing how grateful I am to be able to live this kind of lifestyle. I came across a contest where a publishing house was looking for similar stories.
Tales that can give out a niche of how you survived if and when there was a turning point in your lives.

“Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.”
― Thomas Jefferson

Author's Ink published an anthology of the above title. After many people like you and me penned down their journeys.

This book is a collection of inspirational stories, which will guarantee to give you goose bumps, and hopefully make you look at avenues when you are at the cross roads in your respective lives

Check out the link below. I am also reading the many stories contributed by ~30 writers.

My peers can ignite the stimulus within me, only if I have the desire to walk further.

Mantra for today:  Inspiration can never become extinct if we continue to be aware of our talents, and limitations, and have the lust for life.

The Power Hungry!

Move over Robert Mugabe, Bashar-Al-Assad, Moammar Qaddafi, Than Shwe, Fidel Castro amongst many who were classified as worst dictators of the world.

Power is potent and can make anybody toxic thus, allowing an individual to tread a path that can lead to becoming unruly, boisterous, rambunctious and then this leads to being categorized as the worst dictator!

Nah! you are not to be blamed!

I have a formula for you to to help take over the world and yet be classified as the best rulers the divine could produce!

In order to take over the world, the first thing you ought to do is have double standards!

Curse, swear, aver in your private life, but always have a smiling face in front of the public. This sure takes time, but with practice it becomes easy, and honestly most of the universe is practicing it, so watch and learn.

You will win people by your gentle smile, aristocratic actions, docile mannerisms, and tamed language. Once you gain the confidence of that person, Voila! You can climb on his back by your sweet talk, and eventually climb the ladder to success by taking over the world.

“It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit.”
― Noël Coward, Blithe Spirit

Morality is gradually becoming extinct. We are living in the world of “Me-Myself-Mine”. With the rise of social media, we are becoming like a robot. Constantly hooked to the Internet where feelings and authenticity go missing.

Man wants to live life king size but prefers to get wealth without work, gain knowledge without striving hard for it, become a leader without any sacrifices or make any conscience effort, and wants results the easy way. Integrity is going missing, and people want publicity for everything.

"if ethics is not the engine of success, in the train of growth, it sure is a guard, with a flag, which may be green, or at times red.”
― Priyavrat Thareja

So, individuals who are power hunger, use the fundamentals of  contrasting principles since man is too engrossed in himself. He can become your puppy, and you can eventually take him around on a leash without him noticing it.

Although, I pray that such a day does not come!

Mantra for today: The day we make compassion our companion, terror will become extinct.

Wordless Wednesday #69

The above picture is a gutter being surrounded by pebbles so that the soil does not erode off.

This same analogy can be applied to our mind....We need to have it protected 24*7 by being aware of what we think so that our negative thoughts do not ruin our action.

Mantra for today: Safeguard your mind since that is the key to your karma bank.
