Home Alone

Ann bids her family a fond goodbye while wishing them to have a pleasant and safe trip back home.

She shut the door behind her and faced an empty house.

As she was picking up the mess after them, she could hear the echoes of her kid.

That made her quickly turn around to see nobody!
She shut her eyes, drew in a deep breath and smiled.

Turned on some soft music, and continued to clean while humming along. Her body and mind were running parallel to each other but were still in synch with regards to her sanity.

A Narrow Escape...

Weary and overworked Jack opened the door of his apartment, let out a big yawn prior to entering, and then stepped in gently shutting the gate after him.

Walked to his bedroom to change, and was about to lurch towards his bed, when his eyes fell upon the frame that was slightly tilted. He paused, scratched himself while introspecting and after taking a deep breath, walked towards it to straighten it.

Just then, a loud noise made him shriek in fear, turned around to see a beam over his bed. He held the frame tightly and whispered, "Thank you!"

Diwali and Halloween

Raj lights lamps in all corners of his house  with hymns playing in the background. He is celebrating Diwali the festival of light that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance.

Just then the bell rings, he opens the door to a bunch of kids dressed in spooky costumes and shouting, "Trick or Treat."

He smiles, grabs his bucket full of treats and shouts "Treat...Treat!" As if surrendering to their threat in a sweet way!

Shuts the door, and continues with his prayers of the Hindu festival that comes around the same time as Halloween.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my date of birth, and needless to say my pages on social media went frenzy wishing me " Happy Birthday."

Sure, I was elated reading and received wishes from my near, dear and virtual ones, and acknowledged them for their wishes.

While thanking about ~200th time (yes, that many wishes) I realized (yes, better late than never, huh!) that thank goodness I was born as a human, to be able to cherish all these wishes, and enjoy the spotlight, and dance and bow thee!

Yes, we all are the fortunate ones to be given the birth of a human.

A human that has the five senses, intelligence, and a touch that can either impact an individual in a positive or negative way via our actions. These actions can sometimes speak louder than words; seen as clashes that rips our skin apart.

Sometimes when our egos clash, the harsh words itself can echo miles and can hurt an individual at the cellular level cause of its  sheer utterance.
Phew! What an impact.

Yes, we all are the lucky ones to breathe in that oxygen with freedom and choose to either be elated or suffocate at our circumstances that we are partially responsible for creating it.

A life as a human being is so precious, yet we let our days, months, years pass by without the knowledge of being gifted the best mortal being until we breathe our last!

A reminder (to myself) that we ought to cherish this life as a Homeo-Sapien since it is not only a wiser life as compared to any other form born on this planet, but also we can do wonders to this planet, and transform it as a blessing for other animals.

Mantra for today: Life as a human being is precious, let's give it our best shot!

Potty Training

Paula was running around her 15-month-old son while keeping a keen eye on his actions. Then suddenly, while playing, her toddler, paused, scratched his head as if confused.  Showed some discomfort, and bent his knees while popping out his buttocks, while giving out an annoyed sound.

That noise was enough to alert her.

She immediately picked him up and rushed towards the bathroom. Then pulled down his training pants and put him on the throne.

"Phew! Potty training is difficult and a laborious job" she murmured while singing him a lullaby to keep him stationed on the pot.

A hike to remember

Laura and her family went on a hike in the woods. The surroundings were serene except for a bunch of squirrels who would go hither and thither. That would make them pause in their steps by giving these little creatures the way.

Seeing them nibble cutely on their food, she showed interest in being clicked with one of them.

Her son brought her and the little creature into one frame, and was about to click, when his eyes widened, and he screamed in horror.

Curious Laura turned around and to her dismay; she saw a bear in the background.

A Dream!

Laura was stirring the soup while humming her favorite song, Choices by George Jones.
"I've had choices since the day that I was born
There were voices that told me right from wrong
If I had listened, no I wouldn't be here today
Living and dying with the choices I've made."

Just then she got a call, and that made her jump, twirl and weep all at the same time.

Hung up, wiped her tears, grounded herself and texted her better half, "Finally! Dreams do come true! My publication will soon be seen on celluloid worldwide".

Gall, Gratitude, and Guilt

Katie bangs the alarm.

Each night she promises herself not to go back to that kind of life, but morning strikes, and the gratitude of being rescued when she was in the dungeon always springs up when she wants to revolt thus faithfully follows the 9am to 9pm orders without any debate.

She drags herself to the routine while relying on her destiny.

Knocks twice on her door, prior to entering, and finds her body pale with no expressions.

 Screeches for help!

Moans when her master is declared dead, and guilty when she hears about acquiring 25% of her wealth.

The strange weather

The wind was hustling furiously and made her windows bang loudly.

"Aha! this storm can make anyone create wrinkles out of fear" Myla chuckled as she was quickly closing the framework with panes.

Just when everything was securely tight, there was peace everywhere.

She was amazed at the intense weather and went outside to check upon the skies.

Just then a strong lightning fell upon her; she screamed in panic as she ran to duck under the roof.

She called upon her next door friend, who was surprised at her status report, cause she was singing in the rain.

The Mailman

Looking through the window, she stares at the path wondering if it will arrive as mentioned in the UPS tracking information.

Her feeble eyes look at the volume of the bottle, and she is in a dilemma  if she should take the last dose or leave it for a time that is crucial?

Ever since the insurance peaked up the prices for the drugs that she had been taking on a regular basis, she has been relying on the mailman.

Just then the doorbell rang, and that prompted her first to take her scheduled dose before receiving her package.

A Yellow Boat

Charles was wading in water on a summer afternoon, with thoughts keeping him company, when a boat at a distance caught his attention.

After focusing hard, he realized that the yellow boat was drifting towards the shore with no anchor. Curious, he started walking towards the riverside, and waited patiently for it to arrive.

Just then he jumped in fear, as he heard a  loud bang.

He turned towards that direction, to see fireworks in the sky and a group of known faces appear on the yellow boat in the river with joyful and perky birthday wishes for him.

The Defeat

Pedro is moving his feet briskly in the ground trying to level off the mud.

His mind is moving aimlessly that he did not notice his coach come near him and direct him to start the game.

Looks up towards the voice, frowns for a microsecond, then brings his attention to the surroundings by a quick nod, and a silent, "I can do it."

He propels his first ball after a deep inhalation, which helped pacify his mind that was drifting flash forward to a scenario where he gave away runs that led to the defeat of his team.

A Life-Changing Event

Sam is being playful while looking at himself in the mirror.

Mom passes by his room to find him in such a state.

Walks in with her hands on her hips and a frown on her face.
Sam looks at her and quickly turns towards his papers.

Taking a deep breath, she strokes her hand over his head and says gently, "You can be comical all you want tomorrow evening after your significant and compelling event."

Pats his shoulder as if trying to make him understand, " Ought to be serious, Sam. The Blue skies won't wait for you."

Freedom from a body

Mohan was laying on his side with tears trickling down his cheeks, and he was quick to wipe from his spare wrist while the other one was occupied with the intravenous drip.

His body was screeching in pain, and he wanted a way out from this disease whose malignant growth had penetrated in his bones thus making it unbearable.

"It is just a matter of time" the docs said.

Family members were stroking his legs with the hope to give him some relief until he finally breathed his last, and got a well-deserved freedom from the diseased body.

A Dying Wish

Celine is tossing and turning in pain, but determined to kill the hours and postpone the event that could help create a future.

A prospect that could govern the head of this newborn, and help him make the right decisions from the top part of his animate body instead of the heart that usually tend to unfold as an emotional choice.

As the clock ticks midnight, the mom frees the child from her womb, while wishing him a courageous, optimistic and a dynamic life, and hoping that he avoids being self-centered, rash and primitive, as she breathes her last.
