Memories erased

The past weekend my hard disk crashed.

It is normal for the disk since it has a life span of only 3-4 years. However, the sad part is that I did not get my backup.

My documents and pix are gone!

The pictures that I clicked helped me create memories; were now history.

It was a sad moment since memories are usually clinged onto and today mine got erased. I have no proof left!

The neurons in my brain have some fond memories captured, but alas with age even these nerve cells will degenerate. What I fear is that when my kid will be in college, I will have nothing to cling as fond memories.  Unless I scratch my gray matter, and try hard to focus on a place or an occasion.

So, do you think erasing memories is good or bad?

Unfortunately, bad memories do not need pix since they register hard into the brain. The good memories tend to be taken for granted and get overwritten. My attempt right now is to keep those good memories intact.

However, man tends to make memories each day, and by not living in the present with the fear that I might erase my good old days...is also wrong.

Thus, with a heavy heart...I let go of my ~2 years of memories that were clicked and stored on my computer, and start registering each day since; living in the present will help me make new memories.

Mantra for today: The present has all the action. Do not deprive yourself of it.
